Solar energy storage: packs that work while the sun does not

Solar panels make power when the sun shines; the battery decides whether that power is useful at night. This page covers solar storage packs, how to size them, and how they connect to chargers and inverters.

Range facts. Solar anchor: company solar range includes 47 solar battery models, 32 home solar storage models and 13 solar street lighting models in the range index. Detail pages: 12V 100Ah and 12V 200Ah solar packs.

A solar storage pack is bought for cycles, not for a single discharge. It charges when the panels produce more than the load consumes, and discharges when the load exceeds production — daily, for years. That duty favours LiFePO4 chemistry in this range: long cycle life, flat discharge voltage and built-in protection, as described on the detail listings. The 12V 100Ah solar pack on this site lists a cycle life of 2000 cycles or more, a 50A charging current and a 50A maximum continuous discharge current, with a metal shell and customised dimensions; the 12V 200Ah pack lists the same cycle life with a 100A charging current and 100A maximum continuous discharge current, at 521 x 238 x 217 mm and 23.5 kg, with a display. Those are two listings, not a solar standard.

Sizing starts from daily energy. Add up the loads the pack must carry overnight — lights, communications, refrigeration, tools — in watt-hours, divide by the pack's nominal voltage to get amp-hours, and allow for the depth of discharge and for days without sun. The solar-storage blog post on this site walks through that arithmetic in general terms with worked examples; the model listings supply the voltage and capacity to put into it. A pack sized on amp-hours alone, without voltage, is not sized at all, because a 12V 100Ah pack stores half the energy of a 24V 100Ah pack.

Charging a solar pack is a system question. The charger must match the pack's chemistry and voltage — the 14.6V 40A charger on this site, for example, is made for 12V LiFePO4 packs in 4-series configuration and charges a 12V 100Ah battery in approximately 3 hours by its reference table, or 2.5 hours by its product description, a difference this site notes rather than resolves, since both figures come from the same listing. Solar charge controllers, inverters and chargers must agree on voltage and chemistry, and a buyer should confirm the whole chain, not just the pack, before ordering.

For a solar inquiry, state the daily load in watt-hours, the system voltage, the number of sunless days the pack must bridge, the space available, and whether the system is grid-connected backup or fully off-grid. Those five facts determine the pack; a request for a solar battery without them can only be answered with more questions.

How to choose in this family

Fix the chemistry first, then the voltage and series count, then the capacity. Check the exact model listing for its own dimensions, protection, certificate set, minimum order and lead time — those values belong to that listing and do not transfer to other models. If no listed size fits your enclosure, the custom route covers custom dimensions and configurations; describe the enclosure and the electrical requirements rather than asking for a general price.

How to place an inquiry, step by step

  1. Send the device facts. Tell us the device type, the available space (length, width and maximum thickness), the nominal voltage you need, the capacity or runtime you target, and the peak current if your device has motors, radios or heaters.
  2. Name the model or the chemistry. If a page on this site matches, quote its model description and listing details. If nothing matches, say so and describe the chemistry and voltage you need, so the conversation starts on the custom route.
  3. Confirm documents and terms in writing. Ask for the certificate set for that exact model, confirm the minimum order, the price basis and the lead time for that listing, and confirm payment and warranty terms before you pay. Terms stated for one model listing do not transfer to another model.
  4. Agree the sample step. Confirm whether the next step is a listed sample, an engineering sample for a custom design, or a small trial order, and what test you will run on arrival — fit in the enclosure, runtime, or peak-current behaviour.

Send all of this in one message through the contact page: device type, space, voltage, capacity, peak current, model description if you have one, and the documents you need. That is the whole inquiry — no separate form, no account, no extra step.

What to send us now

Send one message with your device type, the space the pack must fit, the voltage and capacity you need, the peak current if it matters, and the model description if a page on this site already matches. Add the documents you need — certificates are available upon request — and whether you need a listed model or a custom design. Use the contact page or write to [email protected], or call +86-755-25629920. A specific message like that is what turns a range of hundreds of models into a short, answerable question.
