Li-polymer battery packs: power in a flat outline

Li-polymer packs use flat pouch cells, which makes them the right chemistry when the device is thin, curved or tightly packed. Start here for wearables, handheld devices and compact electronics.

Range facts. Li-polymer anchor: 18 Li-polymer battery models plus 25 3.7V LiPO cell listings in the range index. Detail page: 3S 11.1V 5600mAh pack for heated gloves and wearables.

A pouch cell is a flat, flexible package rather than a rigid can. That construction lets the cell take thin, wide or curved outlines that a cylindrical cell cannot, and it lets a pack fit a shallow cavity in a wearable or a handheld device. The trade is mechanical: a pouch needs the device enclosure to protect it, and its thickness, width and length must be checked against the real cavity, allowing room for the protection board and the wiring where the design includes them.

The representative detail page on this site shows what a Li-polymer listing contains: a 3-series 11.1V 5600mAh pack, 26 x 67 x 90 mm, 288 g, in aluminium plastic film with heat-shrink PVC, with a built-in PCM supporting 0.5C charge and 1C continuous current, a 10K ohm NTC for temperature protection, and a Molex 51146-5P connector. Those values belong to that listing alone. Other Li-polymer listings in the range differ in voltage, capacity, size and terms, and none of them inherits this pack's connector or protection.

For a new device, the practical questions are the cavity outline, the thickness budget and the runtime target. A flat pack that is a millimetre too thick fails just as surely as a pack with the wrong voltage, so send the cavity drawing or the three dimensions with the inquiry. If no listed outline fits, the custom route covers custom dimensions and shapes; the factory conversation then starts from the enclosure rather than from a catalogue number.

Charging and protection deserve a direct question for any Li-polymer pack. Ask what protection the pack carries, what charge rate it supports, and whether temperature sensing is included, because those answers change both safety and charger choice. The charger category page on this site covers chargers for Li-ion, LiFePO4, Li-polymer and NiMH packs, and the charger must match the pack's chemistry and voltage — a charger chosen on voltage alone is not a match.

How to choose in this family

Fix the chemistry first, then the voltage and series count, then the capacity. Check the exact model listing for its own dimensions, protection, certificate set, minimum order and lead time — those values belong to that listing and do not transfer to other models. If no listed size fits your enclosure, the custom route covers custom dimensions and configurations; describe the enclosure and the electrical requirements rather than asking for a general price.

How to place an inquiry, step by step

  1. Send the device facts. Tell us the device type, the available space (length, width and maximum thickness), the nominal voltage you need, the capacity or runtime you target, and the peak current if your device has motors, radios or heaters.
  2. Name the model or the chemistry. If a page on this site matches, quote its model description and listing details. If nothing matches, say so and describe the chemistry and voltage you need, so the conversation starts on the custom route.
  3. Confirm documents and terms in writing. Ask for the certificate set for that exact model, confirm the minimum order, the price basis and the lead time for that listing, and confirm payment and warranty terms before you pay. Terms stated for one model listing do not transfer to another model.
  4. Agree the sample step. Confirm whether the next step is a listed sample, an engineering sample for a custom design, or a small trial order, and what test you will run on arrival — fit in the enclosure, runtime, or peak-current behaviour.

Send all of this in one message through the contact page: device type, space, voltage, capacity, peak current, model description if you have one, and the documents you need. That is the whole inquiry — no separate form, no account, no extra step.

What to send us now

Send one message with your device type, the space the pack must fit, the voltage and capacity you need, the peak current if it matters, and the model description if a page on this site already matches. Add the documents you need — certificates are available upon request — and whether you need a listed model or a custom design. Use the contact page or write to [email protected], or call +86-755-25629920. A specific message like that is what turns a range of hundreds of models into a short, answerable question.
